Size Guide

Finding the right size makes travel more comfortable from the moment you leave home. Use this guide to take your measurements and compare them with the size information shown on each product page.

Product cuts, fabric stretch, and intended fit may vary. The product-specific size chart should always take priority over the general reference tables below.

Measurements in this guide refer to body measurements, not garment measurements.

How to Measure

Use a soft measuring tape and keep it level around the body. Measure over lightweight clothing or close-fitting garments without pulling the tape too tightly.

Chest or Bust

Measure around the fullest part of the chest or bust, keeping the tape level across the back.

Waist

Measure around the natural waistline, usually the narrowest part of the torso. Keep the body relaxed and avoid pulling in the stomach.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hips and seat.

Shoulder

Measure across the back from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other.

Sleeve Length

Measure from the top of the shoulder to the wrist with the arm slightly bent.

Inseam

Measure from the top of the inner leg to the desired trouser hem.

Garment Length

For tops and dresses, measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to the preferred hem position.

Women’s Tops and Shirts

For shirts, blouses, T-shirts, and lightweight jackets, use the bust measurement as the main reference.

Also review:

  • Shoulder width
  • Sleeve length
  • Garment length
  • Fabric stretch
  • Whether the product has a relaxed or fitted cut

Choose the larger size when you are between sizes and the fabric has little or no stretch.

For travel layering, allow enough room for a lightweight top underneath without restricting shoulder or arm movement.

Women’s Dresses

For dresses, compare the bust, waist, and hip measurements.

Use the measurement that corresponds to the widest part of your body when choosing between sizes. For example, if the bust matches size M but the hips match size L, size L may provide a more comfortable fit.

Also review:

  • Total dress length
  • Waist position
  • Sleeve length
  • Lining
  • Fabric stretch
  • Side slits or openings
  • Whether the shape is fitted, straight, or relaxed

Women’s Trousers, Shorts, and Skirts

Use both the waist and hip measurements.

For trousers and shorts, also compare:

  • Inseam
  • Rise
  • Leg opening
  • Waistband stretch
  • Whether the waistband is fixed, elastic, or adjustable

If your waist and hips fall into different sizes, choose the size that best accommodates the larger measurement unless the product page provides different guidance.

Women’s Relaxed and Oversized Fits

Relaxed and oversized products intentionally include extra room.

Choose your usual size for the intended loose fit. Choose one size smaller only when the product page indicates that sizing down is suitable and you prefer a closer fit.

Do not size down automatically, especially when shoulder width, sleeve length, or hip room is important.

Men’s Tops and Shirts

For shirts, T-shirts, overshirts, and lightweight jackets, use the chest measurement as the main reference.

Also compare:

  • Shoulder width
  • Sleeve length
  • Garment length
  • Neck opening
  • Fabric stretch
  • Intended fit

For a standard fit, choose the size closest to your chest measurement.

For layering during travel, consider the larger size if you plan to wear another shirt underneath or prefer more movement through the shoulders.

Men’s Trousers and Shorts

Use the natural waist measurement rather than the size printed on another pair of trousers.

Also compare:

  • Hip measurement
  • Inseam
  • Front and back rise
  • Thigh width
  • Leg opening
  • Waistband stretch
  • Adjustable drawcords or fastenings

If you are between waist sizes, choose the larger size for a more relaxed travel fit, particularly when the waistband has limited stretch.

Men’s Relaxed and Oversized Fits

Relaxed shirts and trousers intentionally provide additional room.

Choose your usual size for the intended silhouette. Choose a smaller size only when the individual product information recommends it and you prefer a closer fit.

Choosing Between Two Sizes

When your measurements fall between two sizes, consider the following:

  • Choose the larger size for a relaxed fit
  • Choose the larger size for layering
  • Choose the larger size when the fabric has little stretch
  • Choose the larger size when your chest, waist, or hips match different sizes
  • Choose the smaller size only when the fabric is stretchy and you prefer a closer fit
  • Review the product’s intended fit before deciding

Comfort is especially important for flights, long drives, walking, and warm-weather travel. A slightly roomier fit may provide better movement during extended wear.

Body Measurements and Garment Measurements

Body measurements are taken directly around your body.

Garment measurements are taken from the clothing while it is laid flat or measured around the finished item.

Garment measurements are usually larger than body measurements because clothing requires room for movement and fit.

Do not compare a body measurement directly with a flat garment measurement without checking how the product chart is presented.

When measuring your own clothing:

  1. Lay the item flat without stretching it.
  2. Smooth out wrinkles.
  3. Measure across the chest, waist, or hips.
  4. Double the flat measurement when a full circumference is needed.
  5. Compare the result with the product measurements.

Fabric and Fit Considerations

Non-Stretch Fabrics

For fabrics with little or no stretch, select a size that leaves enough room at the chest, waist, hips, shoulders, and thighs.

Choose the larger option when between sizes.

Stretch Fabrics

Stretch fabrics may provide more flexibility, but the amount of stretch varies.

Check the product description before choosing a smaller size. Stretch does not always mean that the garment is intended to fit tightly.

Elastic Waistbands

Elastic or drawstring waistbands may accommodate a wider range of waist measurements.

The hip, thigh, rise, and inseam measurements should still be reviewed before ordering.

Lined Clothing

Lined dresses, skirts, shorts, or trousers may feel less flexible than unlined garments. Consider the lining as well as the outer fabric when selecting a size.

Travel Fit Tips

For long flights, road trips, and walking-heavy days, consider:

  • Leaving enough room at the waist when sitting
  • Allowing movement through the shoulders and arms
  • Checking trouser rise and inseam
  • Choosing enough room for light layering
  • Avoiding an overly close fit in non-stretch fabric
  • Reviewing garment length before ordering
  • Comparing the measurements with a comfortable item you already own

Measurement Tolerance

Minor measurement differences may occur because of fabric characteristics and manual measuring methods.

A difference of approximately 0.5–1 inch, or 1–3 cm, may occur between the listed measurement and the finished garment.

This type of minor variation does not automatically mean that the product is defective.
